The Fit Process

The Fit Process

Step one:

Communication

The first step of our fit process is communication. We take time to talk to our customers about their running history, past injuries, and previous shoes. Communication is the most important step in fitting footwear. The more knowledge we can gain about our customers, the more likely we are to recommend the correct shoe. It is even better if you can bring in your old shoes, so that we can examine the wear patterns on the sole.

After hearing your history, we will film you running or walking on a treadmill. We will have you run or walk in just socks or barefoot. We can view the exact moment when our customers’ weight is transferred to their foot and better observe their biomechanics. The information we receive helps us determine which shoes to bring out.  Most customers end up with at least three different options that will work for them.

Step three:

Final Test

Once you find a shoe that works, we always ask for our customers to run outside on the sidewalk, and get a real world feel for the shoe. We make sure you have proper room in the shoe and that the fit is perfect. At this point, if the you are a candidate for orthotics we will try a pair on.

Fitting tips

If you can, bring in your old shoes for us to look at wear patterns.

We only need to see you run for about 15 seconds, but if possible wear comfortable clothes.

Remember, the fit process is completely free!

The entire process normally takes around 15 minutes.
